Awareness Circle

A Wider View

Tea and conversation in the garden, link to Nisargadatta Maharaj

A light-hearted exploration of ourselves and each other, with curiosity, kindness and an openness to the unexpected.

There are moments when the familiar world grows still, and another way of seeing becomes possible. Not as an escape from the world, but as a deeper meeting with it.

Taoist, Zen, and Advaita traditions of non-duality point toward a simple possibility: that the peace and wonder we imagined would come with a flawless life may already be available—without one.

You are welcome to join us.
There is no teacher and no teaching—just a spirit of adventure as we share tea. Drawing on insights from the Buddha, Nisargadatta, Jung, Hellinger and others, we explore present experience through conversation, improvisation, and attention to what might otherwise go unnoticed.

Everything is arriving—
a sudden light,
a strange turn in the road,
a doorway
where there was a wall.

No map.
No knowing what comes next.

A breath arrives
and is already gone.
The window stands open.
Nothing stays—
not the light,
not the steam,
not the cup.

And still—
this breath.

The mystery
was not somewhere else.

The meetings last around two hours, sometimes a bit longer, and usually 10–14 people attend. It is relaxed, informal and open. Participants are welcome to share a potluck meal afterwards. There is no requirement to adopt a particular belief or practice, and engagement is voluntary. Always at your own pace, and always held with care. We meet monthly in Melbourne and Byron Bay. There is no fee.
