Jakob Leschly has been appointed by Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche as his resident teacher in Australia. He began his studies of Buddhism in 1974 and has studied with numerous great teachers, particularly Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Dudjom Rinpoche and Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche. Jakob completed a three year retreat in 1984, has since worked as a translator and interpreter as well as a philosophy and meditation instructor, also completing a BA in Tibetan Studies. He lives with his family in NSW.
Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche (1910-1991), teacher, writer, scholar and sage, was one of the greatest luminaries of Tibetan Buddhism in the twentieth century. He spent 20 years in retreat, wrote over 25 volumes on Buddhist philosophy and practice, published and saved countless texts, and tirelessly worked to preserve and disseminate Buddhist philosophy, practice and culture. In exile, he established the Shechen Monastery in Nepal to continue his tradition, and taught countless students, many of whom are now major inspirations in the West
